Eventful week!

Well, on Monday, I turned 10 weeks! It's been a full week since then! This is a picture from when I was helping Mommy do the laundry:Tuesday, Mommy went to work for 5 hours. We got up, she fed me, and then I fell back asleep and she got ready and went to work. Daddy and I had boys time! Fun! At night, it was bathtime! We got out my bathrobe and cute slippers :)


Wednesday, we went to the doctor for our followup visit since last time they put me on Zantac for reflux. The doctor was impressed with the weight I gained - 9oz in one week! I was 11 lbs 13 oz last week, and this week I was 12 lbs 6oz! She told Mommy and Daddy that since I weigh more, we should increase my dose and see how I do on that for a week. Then, we went to visit Mommy's work. I got to meet all kinds of people who had been waiting to see me. They all thought I was so cute! After that, the co-sleeper came in (FINALLY!)! We went and picked it up at Babies R Us. Daddy set it up and I slept for 6 hours straight! I really like it!



On Thursday, Mommy went to work again. She was in a meeting where they welcomed her back and mentioned that they met me, their newest intern! :) After we dropped Daddy off at school, Mommy then took me to see another friend of hers at the Red Cross. Best of all, when I went to sleep that night (1:30am), I slept for 8 hours STRAIGHT! Mommy and Daddy were VERY excited!


This however, didn't last long. On Friday, Mommy wasn't feeling well, so she had to go to the doctor. She wasn't expecting that. It was supposed to be a relaxing day since the weather was yucky out. It was mostly raining, but there were definitely some ice chips in with the rain! She had to be very careful driving. Overnight, I only slept 3.5 hours, then 4 hours, so no big record for me.


Today, I haven't been feeling well (different from Mommy though!). I've been congested, and when I try to nap, I keep waking myself up because I can't breathe. Mommy called the doctor and we went in for a visit so they could check out my congestion and wheezing. By the time we went, of course, I was no longer wheezing, and everything was good. I still only weighed 12 lbs 6 oz, but I guess it's good I didn't lose any weight. Mommy and Daddy are hoping it won't be a long night, but I've been having trouble napping today, so you never know. Wish them luck!

10 weeks old!

We all made it to 10 weeks - and Mommy says we're all still relatively sane, whatever that means! She also said she is going back to work tomorrow, part time for the next couple of weeks. Daddy and I get boyz time tomorrow!

Mommy knicked another finger clipping my nails again. Boy, do I bleed! So, she ended up putting me in my 1st Christmas sleeper because it is red, so you can't tell if there is blood on it :) We went through one sleeper last night that's now in the wash.

We are also still waiting on the co-sleeper from Babies-R-Us. It was promised to us by 1/14, then we called on 1/13 and they said it would be there by 1/16. Today is 1/18, and it's still not here! Mommy said she's going to have words with someone there tomorrow.

On Wednesday, we are going back to the doctor so she can check on how we're doing on the Zantac. Mommy & Daddy are going to ask about probiotics too.

2 month checkup

Yesterday was my 9 week birthday. Go me!

Today, Mommy and Daddy took me to the doctor for my 2 month checkup! We went into the waiting room and signed the paper, and then Daddy played with me until the nurse came out and called my name! We went into room 1 and Mommy and Daddy stripped me down to my diaper. The room was VERY warm! Then we went down the hall and they put me on this scale to weigh me - I am now 11lbs 13 oz! The nurse (who kept calling me "boo boo") also stretched out my leg to see how long I am - 23 1/8 inches! Both are just above the 50th percentile. Yay! Then she measured my head circumference at 15 3/4 (75th percentile)! My temperature was normal, although I was trying to push it out when she was taking it. She was very impressed with me :)

Then we went back to room 1 and Mommy and Daddy played with me on the table until the doctor came in. She had a med student with her, so he came in also. He just watched us. She talked to Mommy and Daddy, asking them all kinds of questions about how much and often I sleep, eat, and poop. She also asked them if I smile and talk to them, and then she came over and talked to me and grabbed my hands to see if I could sit up on my own, and was impressed with how strong I am, and how well I can hold my head up :) She did say that Mommy and Daddy need to make sure I have more tummy time because the back of my head is developing a flat spot. Since I can sit up in the Bumbo now, we will probably be doing that more too!

Mommy had a bunch of questions about my breathing, my tongue, my teething and the reflux symptoms I've been having. The dr gave Mommy a prescription for liquid Zantac for me to take 3x/day, ideally 30 minutes before I eat. The doctor also told them about the vaccinations that are recommended. There were 3 shots and 1 oral vaccination. One of the 3 shots combined 3 of the vaccines, so that was good! Next time (at 4 months) I will only need 2 shots and one oral medicine. These are the vaccines I had: HBV (hep B), DTaP, HIB, IPV, Prevnar, and Rotateq.

Then the doctor left and we waited for the nurse to come in. Mommy and Daddy got me dressed but left my legs out. The nurse came in and gave me some good tasting medicine in my mouth. Then Mommy gave me the pacifier and the nurse stuck me in the right leg with a sharp thing! And it bled! I only cried for a second, and then I just watched Mommy and the nurse be amazed at how it kept bleeding! Once that was under control, the nurse stuck me with a sharp thing in the left leg! That really hurt!! I was crying a lot! Then while I was crying, she stuck me again! I was NOT happy!!!! Daddy came over and helped me calm down then. He gave me a bottle, and I settled down. We got dressed and I went back in the carseat. By the time I was in the car, I was fast asleep!

Mommy edit: I dropped Daddy off at CVS so he could fill the Zantac Rx. When I got home with the baby, he was still asleep, but woke up not long after and finished his bottle. Then he was standing on me for awhile and also sat in the Bumbo. He's currently sleeping in his swing. :)

Mommy decided to let me sit in the Bumbo today. Look how grown up I look! And what a cute little monkey I am, hehehe. :)


Tomorrow Mommy and Daddy are taking me to the doctor for my 2 month checkup. Hopefully we will have good news to post, along with some stats! Daddy starts his classes for the semester also, so wish him luck!

Happy 2 Month Birthday!

Today is my 2 month birthday! Look how much I've grown! (You can compare to the other picture from my 1 month birthday here). Amazingly, I still fit in the same sleeper! Mommy has had to put away a lot of my onesies and sleepers lately. I'm officially wearing all things 3-6 months... the 0-3 month onesies, sleepers, and other clothes are just too tight on me.

I've been having a clingy day today - I don't want anyone to put me down! But other than that, I am just perfect! I have moments of random smiling, and I laugh in my sleep. I even slept in my crib for a couple hours this morning! But Mommy and Daddy are getting to watch a lot of this show called Medium since I"m usually awake during the time they show reruns (12:30am-2:30am).

This week, on Thursday, I had 2 visitors. A friend that Mommy used to work with came to see me in the afternoon, and then at night, Mommy and Daddy took an infant CPR/first aid class, and another friend came over to babysit me. I was such a good boy! Mommy and Daddy learned a lot and are glad they went. They are also grateful to have the opportunity to get out of the house together without having to bundle me up and take me out in the cold.

Mommy and Daddy also took some pictures of me in a cute outfit today. They said they will try to post them at a later date.... with some promised Christmas pictures as well :)
